Jonäno debuts the newest addition to their Daffodil Collection. Inspired by Daffodil Days, Artist Bonnie Siefers has created beautiful whisper light scarves that support breast cancer research. You can honor someone special, brighten the day of someone touched by the disease, and help make the jonäno mission possible—all at the same time! One of the first flowers to bloom in the spring, the daffodil is a symbol of hope. Each year during Daffodil Days, fresh daffodils are available to purchase from The American Cancer Society in memory of a loved one, to celebrate a cancer survivor, and to promote the hope of a cancer-free future. Now you can show your support year round! These limited addition silk linen scarves are available in black or undyed cloud. Best of all, 10% of each sale goes to support breast cancer research through the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. At $69.00 retail that’s almost $7.00 per scarf in money raised to find a cure. By purchasing one of these organic and natural scarves, not only will you be supporting a fantastic cause, but you will also be looking good and feeling positively uplifted. Here is how it worksPurchase something from the Daffodil Collection for yourself or a loved one, and we will donate 10 percent from each item purchased to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation - Susan B Koman initiative. Our goal, to help create a "World wihout Cancer."
My Story: Jonano eco-chic boutique, Owner/Designer Bonnie Siefers "My mother died from cancer when I was just 19 years old and it was a life changing event. In a matter of months the person closest to me was gone. I was in college and had such a short time to say goodbye. As a grown woman, I carry the memory of my mother daily. This is why cancer research is important to me." Inspired by the Daffodil Days®, jonäno owner and artist Bonnie Siefers created beautiful daffodil tees envisioning "A World without Cancer." You can honor a loved one, brighten the day of someone touched by the disease, and help make the jonäno mission possible—all at the same time!
My Other Favorite Cancer Research Foundations:
The Laura Obadiah-Smith Initiative was created to help fund the Breast Cancer Genome Project at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), a nonprofit organization and one of the world’s leading cancer research institutions. Part of its far-reaching commitment to breast cancer research, the Breast Cancer Genome Project at CSHL is a groundbreaking project in which scientists are working to “map” the mutated genomes of breast cancer. Scientists will use these genome maps to identify specific cancer-causing genes and the role each one plays in the formation of breast cancer. Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is home to some of the world’s premier cancer researchers as well Nobel Laureates including Dr. James D. Watson, co-discoverer of DNA’s structure. At Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, researchers have made significant progress in understanding how cancer develops and spreads throughout the body.
These cancer research charities have been carefully chosen by evaluating two broad areas of financial health, their organizational efficiency and their organizational capacity. Charity Navigator is America's premier independent charity evaluator, helping charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions, by providing in-depth, objective ratings and analysis of the financial health of America's largest charities. TIME Magazine recently selected Charity Navigator as one of the "50 Coolest Websites of 2006" and Forbes once again recognized us as "Best of the Web." With the help of Charity Navigator, we’ve chosen these three great cancer research charities that outperform their peers in efficiency and are well positioned to pursue long-term, systemic change. Join us in making an educated giving choice. To learn more about these cancer research charities, read their evaluations at http://www.charitynavigator.org/ and participate in the solution.
