Jonäno lingerie auction and catwalk raise funding for Breast Cancer Research

Pittsburgh PA – May 21, 2010 –Jonäno heated up Pittsburgh's Firehouse Lounge with fine eco fashion at the Susan G. Komen benefit party for the cure. A cornucopia of local talent, the night raised donations for the Susan G Komen Foundation, raised spirits of local survivors and supporters present, and raised glasses all around as part of Couchange's Drink for the Cure event.

Jonäno presented a fashion show showcasing Jonäno trademark eColorgrown and Maïsse Lingerie Collections alongside their new Spring Summer Collections. A highlight of the collection was a new watercolor dye that mixed stormy hues of gray, purple and blue together on their signature organically grown bamboo.

Flower nymph inspired hair and makeup design was supplied by innovative stylist Marta Anyse Napoleone, and narrative by newly relocated rapper/storyteller Bamboo, who tied together the advent of a healthier planet, healthier workers, and healthier clothing wearers with sustainable growing practices and an ever improving textile production. An advocate of sustainability ‘from seed to sewn’, Jonäno designer Bonnie Siefers sent her mix of organic colorgrown cottons, ethically harvested peace silks, ecoKashmere and pops of hemp denim down the runway before unveiling her lingerie line. The evening heated up with an auction of modeled EcoLux lingerie in shades of raspberry, ocean aqua, and chartreuse, raising additional funding for the Komen Foundation, which works in the realm of breast cancer education, advocacy, and research.

A favorite charity of designer Bonnie Siefers, who lost her mother to breast cancer at a young age, Jonäno raises additional money for breast cancer research year round through the sale of their Peace Silk and Linen Scarves available at www.jonano.com

Jonäno is a woman's contemporary fashion house merging sustainable, ethical style with a feminine, cosmopolitan aesthetic. As one of the many green start ups to arise out of Pittsburgh in the past decade, Jonäno is focused on environmental and ethical sustainability from seed to sewn.
